Terms of Service

AK Aurora Access LLC provides a hosted managed guest Wi‑Fi platform, captive portal, router management tools, support workflows, customer portal, access plans, PIN/voucher workflows, router monitoring, and related services for customers that operate participating locations, vehicles, venues, or remote sites.

Unless a separate written agreement expressly says otherwise, AK Aurora does not provide the underlying internet service. Customers are responsible for their ISP, Starlink, cellular, cable/fiber, DSL, modem, upstream account, bandwidth, data caps, power, cabling, local network conditions, and outages caused by upstream providers or site conditions.

Customers configure guest access methods, prices, taxes, branding, staff roles, guest information collection, marketing opt‑ins, support contacts, and site-specific notices where the platform allows. Customers remain responsible for lawful use of guest data they choose to collect and for their own notices, consents, tax treatment, and guest-facing promises.

AK Aurora may remotely manage supported routers, apply software/security updates, monitor service health, maintain audit/security records, queue safe router commands, and suspend or limit access for security, abuse, nonpayment, maintenance, legal compliance, or operational reasons.

Equipment may be sold, rented, leased, loaned for a pilot, provided as a complimentary accommodation, or used internally depending on the written customer agreement. Customer obligations for payment, return, loss, damage, replacement, purchase options, and protection coverage are documented in the applicable equipment agreement and cross-referenced policies.

Service may be interrupted by maintenance, updates, router limitations, third-party providers, payment processors, Cloudflare/hosting providers, upstream internet issues, power/network failures, force majeure, customer configuration choices, misuse, pilot/experimental features, and device incompatibility. No uninterrupted or error-free service is promised.

To the extent allowed by law, AK Aurora is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, lost-profit, lost-revenue, loss-of-internet, device-incompatibility, payment-processor, customer-guest misuse, customer-provided-internet, or customer-configuration damages. Customers agree to protect AK Aurora from claims arising from customer-controlled locations, policies, guest communications, pricing/taxes, upstream internet, and misuse of the service.

These Terms are governed by Alaska law and applicable United States federal law. Alaska venue and dispute provisions should be finalized with counsel in the customer agreement.

Privacy Policy

AK Aurora Access collects and processes information actually used by the platform, including customer account information, customer users, site/location information, router identifiers, router telemetry, heartbeat timestamps, connectivity status, configuration state, Wi‑Fi client/device identifiers where reported, captive session timestamps, voucher/PIN issuance and redemption records, guest-submitted captive portal data, support records, audit/security events, cookies/session/authentication data, IP addresses where logged, public/WAN metadata, customer branding/contact display information, and payment metadata received from connected payment providers.

Payment card data is processed by the configured payment provider. AK Aurora Access does not intentionally store full payment card numbers, CVV values, or full card-track data. Current payment wording is provider-neutral; Square may be used in Sandbox where configured.

AK Aurora does not routinely inspect or store the content of users’ internet traffic. The platform may process limited technical and operational information necessary for providing service, authentication/access control, security, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, fraud prevention, service analytics, and legal compliance.

Traffic content is different from network/service metadata. AK Aurora may record that a router was online, a heartbeat arrived, a guest session started, an access credential was redeemed, a device was associated where reported, or usage metadata was processed if implemented; it does not store websites visited, page contents, message contents, file contents, or browsing content as part of the current platform.

Information is currently stored and processed on servers located in Germany. Data may be shared with service providers only as needed for hosting, email, payment, security, support, legal compliance, and network-management functions.

Customers and venues may configure guest data collection, marketing opt-ins, branding, access terms, pricing, and guest access methods. Customers remain responsible for their own privacy notices and lawful use of guest data they choose to collect.

Retention depends on operational, billing, troubleshooting, fraud-prevention, support, legal, and security needs. Legal/privacy requests should be sent through the published business contact channel.

Acceptable Use Policy

Users may not use AK Aurora-managed networks for unlawful activity, unauthorized access, credential attacks, network attacks, malware, spam, harassment, threats, infringement, fraud, payment abuse, service disruption, excessive use harming other users, or attempts to compromise AK Aurora, customer, router, payment, or hosting infrastructure.

Users may not circumvent speed, session, device, voucher, PIN, payment, captive portal, or access-control limits; resell/share credentials without authorization; tamper with routers; interfere with NoDogSplash/captive controls; or attempt to access router management interfaces without authorization.

AK Aurora and the customer/venue may suspend, limit, revoke, or investigate access for abuse, security, compliance, support, nonpayment, or operational reasons. Security controls reduce risk but cannot guarantee detection of all prohibited activity.

Refund / Payment Policy

Guest access may be free, complimentary, voucher/PIN-based, front-desk/manual, room/reservation included, or optionally purchased online through a configured payment provider. Customers choose plan prices and are responsible for taxes, guest communications, refunds, chargebacks, duplicate charge handling, and payment disputes unless a written agreement says otherwise.

AK Aurora does not promise refunds outside the workflow and policy configured by the customer or payment provider. Processor fees, failed payments, duplicate charges, reversals, chargebacks, and provider outages may be controlled by the payment processor. Live payments remain disabled unless AK Aurora expressly enables a production payment configuration.

AK Aurora platform fees, monthly managed-service charges, setup fees, equipment charges, support charges, and customer guest Wi‑Fi sales are separate categories unless a written agreement combines them.

Equipment sales, rentals, leases, returns, deposits, replacement charges, loss/damage charges, and purchase options are separate from guest Wi‑Fi sales unless an accepted equipment or managed-service agreement says otherwise.

Customer Managed Service Terms

The managed service includes hosted portal software, customer/admin tools, supported router management, monitoring, updates, access-plan/PIN workflows, branding controls, support records, and commercially reasonable assistance for active supported routers.

Customers must maintain the underlying internet connection, safe installation environment, power, cabling, physical router access, lawful guest-facing notices, staff authorization, accurate site information, and payment/provider settings. AK Aurora cannot guarantee upstream internet, venue power, guest device compatibility, weather-dependent links, or customer-provided infrastructure.

For AK Aurora-owned equipment, customers must provide reasonable physical care, return equipment when required, report loss/damage promptly, and allow remote management necessary to support the service. Sold equipment, rental equipment, lease equipment, pilot equipment, and complimentary equipment may carry different return and replacement obligations.

Experimental, pilot, Sandbox payment, and future-provider features may be limited, changed, disabled, or require additional written terms before production use.

Captive Portal Guest Terms

By using a participating guest Wi‑Fi network, guests agree to follow the Acceptable Use Policy, these Guest Terms, and applicable customer/venue rules. Access may be free, PIN/voucher-based, included, complimentary, or paid depending on the venue.

Guest access is provided for ordinary lawful internet use and may be limited by duration, devices, speed, data, venue policy, security controls, payment status, or abuse prevention. Marketing consent, where shown, must remain separate from mandatory service/legal acceptance.

The customer/venue supplies the physical location and underlying internet unless a separate written agreement says otherwise. AK Aurora provides the platform and router-management layer.

Active Service Hardware Warranty

Routers purchased directly from AK Aurora Access may be covered by active-service hardware warranty review while the associated subscription remains active and the account is in good standing.

Exclusions may include loss, theft, intentional damage, misuse, unauthorized modification, unsupported firmware changes, improper power supplies, unapproved PoE equipment, power surge, liquid damage, fire, extreme environmental exposure, physical damage, customer/third-party damage, customer-provided modem or internet failure, cabling/switch failure, power-source failure, and underlying internet failure.
